Giving Back

Channel@Work

The Channel@Work program is the charitable component of our XChange events.  Channel@Work is designed to bring the IT community together to connect and give back to the local communities that host our events throughout the year.

Our XChange Events team identifies the charities and coordinates with committed vendors, solution providers, and other IT executives on the appropriate contributions of time, items, and monetary donations to make a difference.

Please visit the Giving Back pages for each of our 2013 events to find out more about this year's projects.

In 2012, Channel@Work provided hope to disadvantaged women, empowerment to low-income students through technology, a garden for children to grow with, joy to hospitalized children, and clean, pure water to those without.

 @ XChange Solution Provider:
 Xtreme Home Make Over

We teamed up with the Ronald McDonald House to clean and update their space.  We scrubbed down the kitchen, organized the basement, installed TVs, washers, dryers, stoves, and even a new dishwasher to help make these families lives a little easier in their difficult situations.

See the project video here.

@ XChange 2012:
Teen Center Make Over

Our volunteer team provided a much needed facelift to the Richardson Boys & Girls Club's Teen Center.  With brand new computers, a pool table, phooseball table, musical instruments, and designated homework space, teens are excited to spend more time in the center and less time on the streets.

@ Women of the Channel:
Dress for Success

At each Women of the Channel reception, attendees brought suits, shoes, and a variety of accessories to help outfit disadvantaged women entering the workforce through Dress for Success.

@ Midsize Enterprise Summits:
Ronald McDonald House Wish Lists

Attendees, Vendors, and Staff came together to donate wishlist items including DVDs, gift cards, monetary donations and countless travel sized toiletries to local Ronald McDonald Houses.

@ Healthcare IT Summit:
Comfort Kids

At the event we created comfort kits for local Ronald McDonald House famillies including: gum, crosswords, playing cards, and a note of encouragement.  Though our smallest event, Healthcare provided the most toiletries to help these families during this difficult time.

@ NexTI:
Spruce & Spook

Volunteers gathered together to work hand in hand with the students at the  Henderson Boys & Girls Club to help paint a beautiful mural for their teen room.  Be sure to take a look at the pictures on our facebook page.  They also worked to construct a Haunted House to help bring new families into the club.

See the project video here.

@ WOTC Winter Workshop:
Safe Horizon

The women of the channel came together through a raffle to give back to women and children who have been victims of domestic abuse in NYC.  Vendors donated raffle items and together the women provided $3,630, $300 worth of gift cards, and a number of coats and toiletries.

@ COMDEXvirtual:
Charity:water

The international COMDEXvirtual community came togehter to give back providing a well to a community without access to clean, safe drinking water.
