Giving Back

EverythingChannel@Work

The Channel@Work program is the charitable component of our Everything Channel events. Channel@Work is designed to bring channel and end-user communities together to connect and give back to the local communities that host our events throughout the year.

Projects
This year, we will be partnering with The Boys & Girls Clubs in each city as well as continuing our partnership with Dress for Success. We are proud to be supporting these fantastic organizations and welcome all sponsors and attendees to participate!

In addition, at XChange Ameircas, we will be donating all leftover food to WeDontWaste.org through the hotel's program Centerplate.  The centerpieces from the ARC awards will also be donated to a local area hospital.  Both will help to reduce waste and give back in our initiative for more sustainable, community driven events.

Through our Women of the Channel program, Everything Channel will continue our relationship with Dress for Success promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing suits, shoes, and accessories to help them thrive in work and in life.  For XChange Americas, we will be specifically working with the Dress for Success Denver.

How You Can Help
We ask all attendees (men and women) bring with them new and gently used women's professional attire, gift cards, or business items to donate to The Greater Orlando Dress for Success.

They are especially looking for:

    * Blouses (especially sizes 16+)
    * Black dress pants

Boys & Girls Club

For XChange Americas, we will be running 3 initiatives for The Boys & Girls Club:  Scrub-A-Club,Build-A-Backpack, and a Technology Refresh and we need your help!  Microsoft has generously committed to the sole underwriter sponsorship of the program. They will be exclusively funding the Scrub-A-Club and Build-A-Backpack portions of the project. However, everyone has the opportunity to donate technology as a donor.  Donors will be able to send representatives to volunteer scrubbing the club and building backpacks.  After the hands-on projects are complete, the newly scrubbed club, packed backpacks, and technology donations will be revealed to members of the club in a catered reception at the club.

1.  Scrub-A-Club

The Boettcher Boys & Girls Club needs to refresh their club for the new school year.  Volunteers will be painting, cleaning, and recharging the club for the new group of children.  As part of this program, we will be running a "Network Challenge."  The club has had trouble with their network over the last year.  A group of volunteers will be focused on troubleshooting the issue and potentially running a new wire from the server room to the technology lab.

2.  Build-A-Backpack

Volunteers will bepacking 500 backpacks with supplies for the boys and girls whoparticipate in the clubs' after school program.  The backpackswill bepresented to the 20 children at the reception and the staff willdistribute the remainder to those who are most in need.

3.  TechnologyRefresh

The Club's technology has not updated in 4 years. The club has an entire Technology Program offering daily activities and programs designed to provide youth with access to technology, develop members' technical skills, promote work force readiness by increasing career options for young people, and support members' academic performance.

Their technology wish list consists of specific items to make this program the best it can be.  Any portion of the requests would be more than appreciated and they are happy to take more than requested.  These numbers are simply guidelines:
